Tongchai Company was founded in 1958 and is one of the earliest machinery enterprises in Nantong City. In 1993, it was restructured from the former Nantong Diesel Engine Factory into a joint-stock company. It is a professional backbone enterprise of diesel engines integrating product development, production and sales. The diesel engine cylinder diameter is 135 mm, the piston stroke is 140, 150, 160, 168 mm, the cylinder type is 2, 4, 6, 8 cylinder in-line type and 12 cylinder V type, the power coverage range is from 10KW to 1000KW, and it can be used as a power supporting for marine fishing, inland transport ships, various engineering machinery, agricultural irrigation and drainage, air compression and power station. In the 1990s, the company cooperated with the international internal combustion engine authoritative research institution, Austrian AVL, to develop the upgraded product N135 diesel engine. Its main technical indicators reached the advanced level of similar products, and it was identified as a high-tech product and won the “National Machinery Industry Science and Technology Progress Award”. On this basis, Tongchai Company digested and absorbed the advanced technology of N135, and developed the NT series 160 and 168 stroke diesel engines, which filled the gap in my country’s 135 diesel engine industry with its unique long-stroke design. In order to further meet the needs of national economic development, the company highlighted key points, adjusted the product structure, and successively developed the NTR, NTU, and J series diesel engines, which obtained a number of national patents and have the advantages of high power, low consumption, low noise, low emissions, easy starting, and strong reliability, and are deeply trusted by the majority of users.
